In recent years another appreciation date has been added to our calendars. Fathers day is when we send a card or a gift to our fathers as a way of showing them how much we love and respect them, a bit like mothers day.
So how does this fit in with internet marketing? Well it is a date that you can plan for by having a site, or a web page advertising fathers day gifts where you earn a commission or an affiliate payment for sending buyers to the product page.
This could be a simple one page web site filled with Amazon products that you have set up on the page through the Amazon associates program.
A very good way to earn money online is to go through a calendar and note the dates of all the events such as Valentines day, Mothers day and fathers day. You will also want to make a note of all the public holidays, and then think about what sort of events are linked to each public holiday.
Take for instance Fathers day, this is great for having a site advertising gifts that fathers may appreciate. It is also a great way to advertise other websites that you may have for other public holidays or niches.
Once you have your list of dates from the calendar you then need to work out a plan of how you are going to market for each date, or if you are just going to target certain events. You will then need to set up a reminder for yourself so that you do not miss them or think about them to late to make any money from them. You can use something as simple as a note in your diary or on your calendar to remind you a month before a certain event.
By driving traffic to your sites the month before a certain holiday and increasing the amount of time you spend to driving traffic to that site as the date gets closer, you can not only earn some very good commissions but you can also build very targeted email lists of future customers.
Once you start to build these targeted lists, the following year you can send a sequence of emails to your list that will remind these people about your site and because they have visited and possibly purchased from your site in the past, they are much more likely to do the same again.
The beauty of this kind of marketing is that you are not stuck in one niche, and you can concentrate on different events each month. If you take your list of dates you have taken from your calendar and then add say significant sporting event dates, you will have more than enough dates for 12 months of the year.
This is a simple but very effective way to make money online even if you have a full time job or work part time.

If you have a plan with certain steps to follow, there is less chance of you giving up, and grabbing for the next make money scheme someone is trying to sell you.

His usual routine when he got home from work was to eat dinner with his family, spend some time with his kids and then fall asleep in front of the television. He now works less than 2 hours per day, takes every weekend off and has millions of dollars in the bank.
To achieve this all he done was made one simple change to his routine. Instead of falling asleep in front of the television each night, as soon as he felt himself starting to fall asleep, he went to bed!
This allowed him to get up in the morning an hour earlier each day, and whilst the house was quiet and he was not too exhausted to work, he set about learning how to make money online. It took him nearly 12 months to be able to give up his full time job by earning enough to support him and his family, but he did it.
What was his secret?
He had a plan and followed it. Each morning he had set himself the job of studying and learning for just one hour. Although it almost took him 12 months to quit his full time job, within 6 months of following his plan he did not have to work 7 days per week. He then reinvested those saved hours to spend more time working his plan

Facebook if you have not already noticed has become the new way to build a list of people to market to, so does this mean traditional list building is dead?
No, definitely not. Building a list of people you can market to is still a way of maintaining future profits but you need to use Facebook as just one of the many ways you can build a list.
On Facebook by setting up a page and promoting that page with Facebook adverts you can get thousands of people to like your page in hours. In some cases I have seen people build a list of 60,000 people within 12 hours.
Admittedly these people do not appear in your auto responder straight away, but you can still get your products or affiliate products in front of your large list on Facebook as many times each day as you wish.
Creating a popular page and getting 10’s of thousands of people to like your page is a very powerful way to market products, sites and blogs. Every person that likes your page is a real targeted audience to whatever your page is about.
Once they have liked your page, every time you post on your page, everyone that has liked your page will see that post appear on their wall. You now have a very powerful weapon to use to drive people to a website that is built around the same topic as your Facebook page.
You can add opt in forms to your Facebook page to encourage people to join your page and these people will then be entered in your autoresponder list, but if they fail to sign up you can still send them to your site that may offer a more attractive offer to get them to sign up.
Facebook will not replace traditional list building techniques, but it is a powerful addition to those more traditional ways. As a marketer you need to embrace Facebook pages and use them to their full potential, you can now make yourself known to 10,000 targeted people as an expert in whatever niche you are in.

Another year is upon us and I don’t know about you but I for one always look forward to a new year. I get excited about what great possibilities lay ahead for me, my family and my friends.
If like many of us you have made a promise that 2011 will be the year that you will make it in internet marketing then I have one owrd to say to you Facebook!
Facebook marketing is really coming in to its own and I for one think that in 2011 Facebook marketing will explode in to life. If you have never marketed on Facebook my advice to you is to learn how to do it now!
Facebook marketing is completely different to how you have marketed in the past. If you start trying to do the hard sell methods on Facebook you will fail. Facebook is first a social network site, and not a marketing site.
The reason why so many people spend so much time on Facebook is because they like to socialise online with their friends and family. To be successful at marketing on Facebook you are going to have to learn how to socialise with anyone that visits your facebook page or group.
Why do so many people use Facebook and spend so much time on it ?
Simple, people trust facebook, they also do not get bombarded with adverts by marketers every couple of minutes.
Facebook made a statement a few months ago that they are looking to take over the internet, and they are already getting there. They now have more traffic than google and I would take a guess that at least 90% of all web pages you visit will have a Facebook “Like” tab on it.
Facebook is here to stay and if you want to make it online you are going to have to embrace it with open arms. I am not saying that you will fail without using Facebook, but you will find it a lot easier using it.
Let me give you a for instance. My first email list took me 9 months build and in that time I Had 987 subscribers. Using marketing techniques on Facebook in one week I built a list of just over 10,000 ! and beleive me that is nothing compared to what others are doing.
I know people who have had lists of 30,000 built in less than 5 days!
The important thing is that you need to know how this is done on Facebook.

Like many of you, the next few days I expect is going to be all about planning for Christmas. My wife has already made lists of who we need to buy presents for, what we need to buy, who we need to send greetings cards to. It would not surprise me if she had a list of all the lists she needs to make.
All joking apart though, there is a new trend of people making lists of certain things they want to do before they die or before they reach a certain age. Making a list or writing what we want to achieve is nothing new.
I am sure most of you are aware of the experiments that have been done with students in America, where the people that wrote down what they wanted to achieve in a certain time scale where much more likely to actually succeed in their dreams.
The true power of having a list though is to make sure you go out and do the things on your list and tick them off as being achieved.
Having a plan of what you want to achieve will allow you to break a long term plan into smaller steps. For instance, you could say that you want to be earning an extra $5000 per month by this time next year.
You can then look at that and see what you need to do to make that happen. You may realise that you need to find some method of increasing your traffic to reach that goal, or you need to increase your subscribers by a certain number each month.
You will then start to see that your ambitions are achievable, and what you need to make them happen. You will find that at time you are going to have to step out of your comfort zones, and this is a good thing.
By stepping out of our comfort zone allows us to learn new skills and build our confidence to push ourselves even further.
So this year I am making no new years resolutions because I am going to create a list of everything I want to do and achieve over the next 12 months.
Why not try making a list yourself but remember to include fun things that you have always wanted to do as well. Maybe you have always wanted to learn to ski or you maybe one of your dreams is to learn a new skill.
The most important point of your list though is to make sure that you get to tick things off on it. In other words make sure you take action and make things happen.
