Autoresponders

There are certain things you are going to have to have if you want to build a list. The most important thing you are going to need is an autoresponder. An auto responder allows you to store email addresses and run email campaigns. It can submit emails at any time or date you program into it. You can use an auto responder to build many lists, and send emails to all your subscribers. If you try to send emails selling stuff to hundreds of email addresses stored in you email provider such as, hotmail, gmail or your outlook account you will be labelled a spammer, and risk your internet service being blocked by you internet provider.

With an auto responder this does not happen as everyone on your list has given you permission to contact them, and they would have had to give you their details before they are added to your autoresponders list. It s best to use a autoresponder that you pay monthly for because you get technical backup if things go wrong.  With your list also being stored on their servers you will not lose your list if your computer decides to die on you.

One of the most  popular auto responders is Aweber. Aweber is used by a large majority of marketers because of its stability and the respect it has earned itself. Aweber is easy to to use and they carry training videos on their site. You can also sign up for webinars where they show you more things that aweber can be used for. Buying A Domain Name

If you are serious about building a list then you are going to need a web site. The first thing to do is to choose a domain name . You will want your domain name to be relevant for the market or niche you are going to be selling in. So if you are going to be involved in the golf clothing market, you would want something like www.golfclothes.com.

Always go for a dot com site rather than dot org or co.uk if you are in the UK. Dot com is recognised worldwide and that is where your market will be. The site I use to purchase my domain names from is Godaddy

Once you have purchased you domain name you are going to need an hosting account. At the moment you can get a really cheap hosting account with Host Gator. I would advise going for the “baby account”, but do not be fooled by the name. This will give you unlimited domain hosting, unlimited disc space, unlimited pop3 email accounts, and your own cpanel.
