I know you are probably aware of this already and you may be wondering why I am stating the obvious. Well the truth is that the reason why there is such a huge market for products on how to make money online is that people do not stick to anything and give it a real chance to bear fruit.

What happens is that they purchase a product and when they do not see any results in the first few days or weeks, they then jump on to the next product that will show them how to make thousands of dollars. When that product shows no results then they are on to the next product, and so on….

Giving something a chance to work needs you to stick with it, even if it seems that it is not going to work. Let me give you an example:-  A  few months ago I was shown how to make use of slide show sites to make sales. I set up 6 products on each of the 6 slide show sites I had registered with, and to be honest I was looking around the sites and I could not see any evidence to show me that this method would work, so I stopped doing it.

Two days ago I had a sale on an affiliate product that I did not at first recognize. I logged in to my Clickbank account, checked the stats and found that it was one of the products I had advertised on one of the slide show sites. Needless to say I have now been busy uploading lots more products, but the point to this is that I could have probably made a lot more sales and added another income stream to my online business 2 months ago.

So how long should you stick with something to see if it works? This will vary from system to system, some will take a couple of months before you can make any money from them, and others may give you results in a couple of weeks.

What I do is this, if I feel that the method I am using should be giving me some results within 30 days, I will work most of my time on that one process for at least 30 days. If I have not had any results in that time period I then go back to where I started from, and check carefully to make sure I have not missed out anything. I then may try changing certain things, such as altering certain wording on sales pages, or I may change some of the graphics. In fact I will do anything to see if it will make a difference.

The moral of this is, you have to stick with things to give them time and chance to work for you. If you keep jumping from one product to another hoping the next one will be the one that you will make your fortune with, guess what? You are never going to make any money.

We all know you can get almost instant traffic from PPC using places such as Google Adwords, but what do you do if you can not yet afford to use PPC methods?

I have decided to look at a few cheap ways that can be used to generate traffic.

Banner link exchange:-  There are thousand of banner exchange sites on the Internet and all you need to do is do a search on Google to find them.

The way this works is that You enter you banner link and receive code to put other’s banner links on your site. This technique will only work if you have your own site to display the banner. Free banner exchange can be a great way to get your affiliate link out to a fresh targeted group of consumers.

Forum Posting:- What you need to do is carry out a search on Google looking for forums to do with your niche. Once you have found forums that are active and get lots of regular posts from other members, you subscribe to the forum. You generate traffic by putting your links in your signature box.

Now, the thing you need to remember is not to just post messages in the forums promoting your opportunity. This is called spamming and will get your messages quickly removed by forum moderators.

You passively promote your business opportunity by adding good relevant content to a topic being discussed. Others will see your links in the signature box and visit your site if interested.

You need to visit the forums every day and contribute to them. Before long, your site will be getting extra exposure at no cost except for the time needed to post. This is a great way to become known as being an expert in your niche as well.

Article Marketing:- This in my mind is still one of the best forms of getting free traffic and lots of it. This is all about writing a 350 – 500 word article on a subject or topic in your niche. You then post the article to article sites such as ezine articles and Go articles.

I am not going to go into the details of how to produce a good article as there are some very good free guides on how to do this such as  Learning Article Marketing.

The most important section to the article is the author resource box at the end of the article. This is where you can put the link to your website or blog, and you also need to put in there a call to action to ensure the reader clicks on your link.

Guest Blogging:- Guest blogging, as its name suggests is where you write some content for another marketer or blogger in your niche. You need to find other blogs that are popular for your niche and approach the webmaster or owner.

Most will be glad of someone creating some free content for them, but the important thing is to make sure the content is relevant to the blog you are writing for and it is of high quality. You need to really take your time over this to ensure it is worth reading.

In return for posting content on the owners blog you need to make sure that they agree to carry your link as part of the content. If this blog has lots of visitors then you should pick up some quality targeted traffic.

These are just some of the Free ways you can use to generate traffic to your site and next time I will show you a free way to generate traffic that can produce long term swarms of visitors.

Anyone with a site or blog should spend at least one hour per day working at generating traffic. If you rely on PPC then I would advise testing other methods to get traffic, or at the very least you should be split testing your PPC adds every couple of days so that you get the most clicks from them.

There are many ways you can use to get visitors to your site, PPC, PPV, SEO but the quickest and easiest ways to get traffic to your site is by using bookmark sites.

Sites like Digg, Reddit and Propeller can send hundreds of visitors to your site each and every day.

If you use the following method I can guarantee you will see an increase in your site or blogs traffic.

Just put a post on your blog or add some content to your site and then post it to the book mark sites.

If you was going to do this manually this would take a while but there is a couple of free tools you can use and either one of them will do the job for you.

The first one is www.socialmarker.com and the second one is www.onlywire.com

Onlywire is the easiest and quickest to use. You have to download the onlywire submitter which lets you send your submissions from your desktop.

All you have to do is select which book mark sites you want to post to, but obviosely you have to have registered with the book mark sites first.

You enter the title and URL of your post, add your tags (keywords) and just click the submit button its that easy.

Onlywire then posts to as many social network sites that you are a member of. This is so easy to do and takes only a minute or two but people forget how powerful this is.

I have actually seen the traffic to my site double in just 24 hours using this simple method.

Like most people who have looked at the internet as a way of making money I jumped from one offer to another in the hope of learning how to make money online. Let’s be honest with ourselves here, most of us have done this at some stage or another.

When I first started out I did not know about the KISS technique. For those unfamiliar with KISS, it stands for Keep It Simple Stupid. When I went back to the basics I started to make money, and continue to do so right up to the present day.

The simple way of earning money online is to use a technique called “Bum Marketing” this term was coined by Travis Sago, or rather his wife gave this technique its name. Travis developed a method that uses free techniques to earn money on line.

The basics of this system is that you find a niche in a low competition market, so instantly you need to stay away from niches to do with internet marketing and weight loss. I am not saying that you will not make money in these niches, but these are probably two of the most competitive niches you could choose.

Once you have found your niche and you have checked that there is a market to sell to, you then need to do keyword research for that niche. You then need to find a product to in your niche to sell as an affiliate. You can do this by going to clickbank and selecting a product based on popularity and how good the sales page is.

Once you have the product and your niche you need to do some detailed keyword research to find at least 30 keywords, and then you use these keywords to write at least 30 articles.

Once you have wrote your articles you need to create a landing page for your product you are selling. You can use pages from sites such as Squidoo, Hub Pages, or Blog Spot. You then post your articles on articles sites such as Ezine articles and Go articles.

You then find another low competitive niche and do the same process for that niche as well. You will at some stage start to make sales of your affiliate products, and then it is just a question of sticking with the products that sell and advertising them some more by writing more articles about them.

The products that do not sell you just drop them, or replace them with products that do sell. This strategy sounds more complicated than it actually is. Some bum marketers will tell you that you have to write 30 articles per day, and if you want to get things up and running fast this is true.

However you can also do it by writing 5 articles per day which will mean it will take you 6 days to be ready with your 30 articles, but it is up to you how fast or slow you want to do this. That is the beauty of bum marketing, you do it at your own pace and everything you need to implement this technique is free.

Bum marketing does require commitment and hard work but unlike some of the methods on sale on the internet, Bum marketing works and will allow you to earn money online.

There are tactics that have worked before with online marketing and is continuing to work in the online affiliate marketing world of today. With these top three marketing tips, you will be able to  increase your sales and survive in affiliate marketing online.

The Three Tips

1) Using unique web pages to promote each separate product you are marketing. Do not lump 3 or 4 products together just to save some money on web hosting. It is best to have a site focusing on each product.

Always include product reviews on the website so visitors will have an initial understanding on what the product can do for them. Also include testimonials from users who have already tried the product. Be sure that these customers agree to allow you to use their names and photos on the site of the specific product you are marketing.

You can also write articles highlighting the uses of the product and include them on the website as an additional page. Make the pages attractive compelling and include calls to act on the information. Each headline should attract the readers to try and read more, even contact you. Highlight your special points. This will help your readers to learn what the page is about and will want them to find out more.

Use images and graphics to highlight the product. Include a picture of the product this will help to give the product relevance and will also break up the text. The old saying still stands “a picture can say a thousand words” and it will make your page look more appealing to the eye.

2) Offer free reports to your readers. If possible position them at the very top side of your page so it they simply cannot be missed.  Once you have them subscribed to your list you can use your autoresponder messages to increase the chance of them buying from you. According to research, a sale is closed usually on the seventh contact with a prospect.

Only two things can possibly happen with the web page alone: closed sale or the prospect leaving the page and never to return again. By placing useful information into their inboxes at certain times you will remind them of the product they thought they wanted. Be sure that the content is directed toward specific reasons to buy the product. Do not make it sound like a sales pitch.

Focus on important points like how the product can make their life easier, and more enjoyable. Include compelling subject lines in the email. As much as possible, avoid using the word “free”  in the title of the email, because there are still older spam filters that dumps those kind of contents into the junk before they get read. Convince those who signed up for your free reports that they will be missing something big if they do not purchase your products and services.

3) Get targeted traffic, if the person who visits your site has no interest whatsoever in what you are offering, they will move on and never come back. Write articles for publication in e-zines and e-reports. This way you can locate publications and readers that may need your product.

Try to write a minimum of 5 articles per day, with at least 300 – 400 words in length. By continuously writing and maintaining these articles you can generate as many as 100 targeted readers to your site in a day. Once you have posted 30 articles and you have not made a sale it may well be worth moving on to a different product.

Always remember that only 1 out of 100 people are likely to buy your product or get your services. If you can generate as much as 1,000 targeted hits for your website in a day, this means you can make 10 sales based on the average statistic.

The tactics given above do not really sound very difficult to do, if you think about it. It just requires a little time and an action plan on your part.
