Christmas Cometh

Yes Christmas is almost upon us which means even more pressure on our over burdened purse strings. Like many of you this is the time of year when I would like to earn some extra money to help pay for the holiday period.

Earning money for Christmas is not that hard when you put your mind to it. We all know that many businesses start to have their Christmas staff parties around this time of year. So there are going to be a lot of parents out there desperate to find a babysitter.

Start by telling others that you are willing to do some babysitting, ask friends and neighbours. Place an advert in the local shop or store. Not only will you be able to earn some money for Christmas, but this may lead to more bookings for you in the coming year.

Not keen on babysitting? why not try your hand at making home made Christmas cards. The materials you will need are easily accessible and as long as you are fairly good at cutting out then you can offer personalised hand made cards to friends and neighbours.

Again get some adverts out there, place them in local shops, or print up some fliers on your computer and ask if you can place a few where people gather, Hair salons, cafes, just ask the owner if you can leave some leaflets. Don’t just put them in places without permission as they may end up in the trash bin.

Many families all get together at Christmas time so if you know of any friends or neighbours that are going away for a few days, why not offer your services to watch over their home for them. You could offer to water their plants, feed any pets, or offer to switch some lights on for them at night so the property looks occupied.

You will earn some much needed extra cash and they will have peace of mind whilst they are away.
